Lexmark's 57ppm CX860 multi-function A4 laser printer is designed to rival more expensive A3 models

The new Lexmark laser printers and MFPs are powered by powerful quad-core processors and boast the fastest print and copy speeds available in their respective A4 classes. Seen here is the CX725. (Image source: Lexmark.)

If you’re shopping for a color laser printer for the office, you’re in luck. Lexmark has just announced seven brand new models in four series: the CS700, CX700, CS800, and CX800. (The ‘X’ in the name means it’s a multi-function printer.)

Leading the troops is the CX860, which Lexmark says offers the highest toner capacity (up to 55,000 black and 55,000 color pages using the ultra-high yield replacement toners), largest input capacity (up to 4,500 sheets), and most flexible media support (from 70 to 300 gsm) of any A4 color laser MFPs in the market today. You can even configure it with an in-line staple finisher and a multi-position staple, hole punch finisher. The 57ppm CX860 also has a maximum monthly duty cycle of 350,000 pages. In Lexmark’s own words, this is an “A4-class MFP that performs like an A3 device”.

Other models in the CX800 series include the CX825 and CX820. In a nutshell, the CX820 aims to offer the best value in features, supplies, and service. Versus the CX825, it prints just a little bit slower (50 vs. 52ppm), copies just a little bit slower (57 vs. 60ppm in simplex mode), and uses a slightly slower processor (1.3GHz quad-core vs. 1.6GHz quad-core) and smaller touchscreen control panel. For workgroups that don’t need the other functions, the print-only CS820 is a 60ppm color laser model with an 8-second first-page-out speed.

And a rung below we’ve the CX725 and CS725/720. Like the 800 series, you can expect a quad-core processor to power the fast print and copy speeds, flexible media handling, and input reliability (e.g., Lexmark claims the paper trays are virtually jam-proof). The CX725 is capable of 50ppm in black or color; the CS725/720 50ppm. Being an MFP with a scanner unit, the CX725 can also scan at up to 60 images per minute.

Other noteworthy business features in these newly announced models include Kofax TotalAgility, which aims to enhance the omnichannel capture strategy, and Lexmark's OnboardingAgility smart process application solution framework, which aims to reduce process complexity and improve the onboarding experience.

The new products will be available in Singapore from February 2016, from Lexmark authorized distributors and resellers. Here are some of their prices:
