Let's make everyday better: Singtel unveils new logo and a slew of new enhancements

 Singtel's new logo and tagline.

Since 1999, Singtel has been using the same logo. Entire companies have risen and fallen in that span of time. In light of that, isn't it time for the company to unveil something new? If you've had that line of thought, congratulations! You were thinking the same thing the management at Singtel thought! According to the management, this change has been a long time coming, The company has slowly been introducing new services (such as mobile phone replacements) in preparation of this, with initial preparations done more than a year ago

At today's event held at the Somerset Skate Park, Singtel unveiled their newest logo that'll be their mark for the foreseeable future. Not only that, they've also unveiled a handful of measures meant to improve their services and minimize disruptions in their customers' lives.

Chief among them is appointment booking. If you're heading down to Singtel shops, you needn't even be at the site to create an appointment - you can simply do it online. This allows people to minimize wasted time as well as allow the telco to better manage its manpower, assigning staff when there's a large volume of incoming customers and reassigning them when there's not.

Another such initiative is creating a preferred call back time. Only available via call-ins at the moment, this feature allows customers with queries to request Singtel to call them back at a time of their choosing. Singtel hopes this will benefit customers a lot, allowing them the best time to get a call from the company for whatever assistance they require.

And finally, like any good pizza service, Singtel's adopting a 30 minutes arrival time window for dispatched technicians to arrive at your location from the moment you request one. They will be rolling this initiative out from April this year. And no, you don't get a free phone if they're late.

These improvements are the just the beginning of the company's plans to improve their customers' experience in dealing with the telco. The new features will also roll out to the MySingtel app in the future. Singtel plans for complete integration (via phone, web and app) by the end of this year.

On top of the trio of new improvements, Singtel's also unveiled a new rewards program for Thursdays. Every Thursday, starting from tomorrow to February 19 (with more Thursdays to come in the future), Singtel will be treating their customers with a variety of treats. These range from free local calls all day for postpaid mobile customers (tomorrow) to free data all day for postpaid mobile customers (19th Feb). Although the current treats have only been scheduled till the middle of next month, Singtel plans to continue the momentum once the current publicized treats are over. The current list of treats are as follows:-

  • 22 Jan: Free local calls for postpaid mobile customers
  • 29 Jan: Free SMSes all day for postpaid mobile customers
  • 5 Feb: Free 30-day preview of new SingtelTV channels for SingtelTV subscribers
  • 12 Feb: Free Facebook access all day for prepaid mobile users
  • 19 Feb: Free data all day for postpaid mobile customers

If you still prefer the old methods of interacting with the company (like queuing up at a Singtel shop for example), they'll still be around. These new improvements only build on top of the older methods, which Singtel has no intention of removing.
