Lenovo unveils the Moto G and Moto G Plus with 5.5-inch 1080p displays
Lenovo yesterday updated the Moto G lineup with not one, but two new models. They are the Moto G and Moto G Plus.
Both smartphones come with 5.5-inch 1080p displays which is a huge jump in display size and resolution compared to the 5.0-inch 720p display of the Moto G (2015). The Moto G and G Plus run on the Qualcomm Snapdragon 617 processors, Android 6.0 Marshmallow and are powered by a 3,000mAh battery. The two phones support TurboPower fast charging which is claimed to provide up to 6 hours of mixed use time after a 15-minute charge.
The Moto G Plus has a fingerprint sensor integrated into the physical home button, and is equipped with a more powerful 16-megapixel f/2.0 rear camera with laser autofocus and phase-detection autofocus. On the other hand, the Moto G has a 13-megapixel f/2.2 rear camera with a color-balancing dual-LED flash.
The Moto G comes in one variant with 2GB RAM and 16GB internal storage space. The Moto G Plus has two configurations; one has 2GB RAM and 16GB internal storage space while the other comes with 3GB RAM and 32GB internal storage space. It seems that only the Moto G Plus has a microSD memory card slot.
In terms of pricing and availability, the Moto G will be available in the U.K from early June at £169 (~S$335) while the G Plus starts from £199 (~S$399). It is not known at time of publication whether both phones will be available locally.
