Lenovo’s ThinkVision P32u monitor will let you daisy-chain multiple Thunderbolt 3 devices

Lenovo ThinkVision P32u

Lenovo has announced a new professional-grade display ahead of CES 2018. The ThinkVision P32u is targeted at creative professionals, and it covers 99.5 per cent of the Adobe RGB color space, or 98 per cent of DCI-P3.

However, there are already numerous displays that offer these or similar specifications, and the ThinkVision P32u’s main draw will probably be its support for daisy-chaining multiple Thunderbolt 3 devices.

These can be other Thunderbolt 3 displays or even an external storage system, and it’s not difficult to see how this could appeal to those looking to set up a wide-ranging workstation.

There aren’t many displays that enable daisy-chaining the moment, so this is what will help the Lenovo display stand out.

The 32-inch screen is equipped with an IPS panel, and it boasts a crisp 3,840 x 2,160-pixel resolution, a maximum brightness of 300 nits, and a 1,000:1 contrast ratio.

In addition, there are four USB 3.1 (Gen 1) Type-A ports for your other USB Type-A peripherals. You’ll also find two HDMI and one DisplayPort connector for hooking up to your PC.

Lenovo ThinkVision X24 2018

Lenovo also trotted out a redesigned ThinkVision X24, a more modest 24-inch 1080p display with ultra-thin bezels that measure just 1.1mm. The monitor itself is also super sleek, coming in at just 4mm thick.

The onscreen display controls have also been shifted to the front for much easier access, and the display connectors have been repositioned to avoid interference from the stand when trying to plug something in.

Another new addition is the audio jack, so you can plug in directly to the monitor.

The ThinkVision P32u will cost US$1,349, while the X24 goes for US$249.
