Urban Sketchers are artists who people who capture the beauty of everyday cityscapes, and the community exists all over the world — yes, in Singapore too!

To celebrate the global community’s 10th anniversary, Apple is holding sketch walks all around the world. In Singapore, you can join local illustrator and comic artist Don Low for a sketch walk along Orchard Road this Thursday, from 4 to 6 PM. Low has over 20 years of experience as an illustrator, been a member of Urban Sketches since 2009, and drawing on an iPad Pro since 2015.

“People will learn how easy it is to take up an Apple Pencil to draw on the tablet,” Low said. “To get them started, they will be given a quick introduction on perspectives and basic principles of composition. For veteran sketchers using traditional mediums (i.e. paper, pen, pencil, water color), it would be an opportunity to bring their sketches to a different level digitally.”

Participants can choose to bring their own iPads, draw on paper, or loan iPad Pros and Apple Pencils from the Apple Store to try them out. The walk will be 0.5 km, and if you’re interested you can sign up here.
