Leaks on AMD’s Radeon RX Vega GPUs point to four different models, including a liquid-cooled card
We’re fast approaching the unveiling of AMD’s Radeon RX Vega GPUs on 30 July at the company’s Capsaicin event, but it looks like certain details have leaked ahead of time.
There will reportedly be four different models, including air and liquid-cooled versions of the flagship Vega XTX card.
The Vega XT and XL sit further down the ladder, featuring 64 and 56 compute units (CUs) respectively. Both cards supposedly have a TDP of 285 watts, the same as the air-cooled Vega XTX card.
The liquid-cooled version of the Vega XTX will have a much higher 375 watt TDP, higher even than the already-announced Vega Frontier Edition card, and comes equipped with 64 CUs. AMD has said that certain variants of Radeon RX Vega will be quicker than the Frontier Edition GPU, so it remains to be seen if this is that card. The Frontier Edition model has been lackluster in terms of gaming performance, but we're still hoping that AMD will manage to impress.
All the cards will ship with HBM2 memory, which AMD refers to as high bandwidth cache.
Of course, there’s no way to verify these details right now, and we’ll probably have to wait till 30 July to find out and get more information on things like texture units, shader counts, and other features.
