The latest leaks on the Apple iPad Mini come in the form of cases manufactured by Cygnett, which are spotted at a storefront in Australia. If the cases turn out to be legitimate accessories, the details on the packaging have confirmed some of the alleged specs.
First, the package states that the cases are built for the iPad Mini, hence it is likely to be the official name. Second, the case measures 20 cm long by 13 cm wide, 9-inches diagonally. Based on estimation, the case is about 1 cm deep.
According to a sketch drawn by a man from ProductFeedback, the iPad Mini appears to have a 7-inch screen with an aspect ratio of 16:9. Leaks so far have suggested a 7.85-inch iPad Mini instead.
This isn't the first time cases for the iPad Mini have been leaked. Case manufacturer DeviceWear posted up a website in August, which contained some nice renders of the iPad Mini in their cases. The website was later taken down.
It is noteworthy to mention that Cygnett is one of the leading accessory makers for mobile devices, and it is possible that the company has access or information to the actual specifications of the iPad Mini. Nonetheless, this latest leak is considered the oddball. Therefore, we advise you to take this report with a pinch of salt.
