Latest Surface Pro 4 firmware update should solve many (but not all) of the tablet's outstanding issues
Microsoft has just released its sixth firmware update for the Surface Pro 4 tablet. A fairly substantial update, I hope that this is a sign that Microsoft is finally focusing on solving the tablet’s many still outstanding problems.
Known as ‘System Firmware Update - 1/27/2016’, these are what it entails:
- Surface Embedded Controller Firmware (v103.899.256.0) adds battery charging enhancements and thermal tuning.
- Surface Fingerprint Sensor driver update (v2.2.10.6) improves accuracy.
- Wireless Network Controller and Bluetooth driver update (v15.68.9037.59) improves access point compatibility and throughput on 5GHz networks.
Surface Pro 4 users who encountered battery drain and overheating problems, Wi-Fi throughput issues, screen glitches, etc. - did this update help?
A similar update for the Surface Book (which isn’t selling in Singapore yet) is also out, by the way.
