'The Last of Us' Game to be Adapted into a Movie

The vastly popular 3 Playstation game, The Last of Us, owed much of its popularity to its character development and the story it told over the course of the game. And it seems Sony subsidiary, Screen Gems, is aiming to bring the story to a wider audience. Screen Gems will distribute the movie, while Sam Raimi's Ghost House Pictures production company will help with the adaptation of the game into a live-action movie. The game's creative director, Neil Druckmann, will be writing the screenplay for the movie. No news yet about the movie's release date though so we might be waiting for a while.

For those unfamiliar with the game, The Last of Us takes place 20 years after an infectious plague wipes out humanity. An experienced survivor, Joel, meets and teams up with a young Ellie as they journey through a post-apocalyptic wasteland. The game was a big hit when it was released so you might want to grab it if you're curious about all the hype.
