LaCie Rolls Out Its Little Big Disk Thunderbolt 2

First announced at the CES 2014, the LaCie Little Big Disk Thunderbolt 2 delivers speeds of up to 1,375MBps, allowing streaming and editing of 4K (or 3D videos) while in the field. It manages such high throughput thanks to two 500GB PCie SSDs in a RAID 0 configuration. Such a setup also makes it faster than the previously reviewed G RAID with Thunderbolt, which has two 4TB 7,200rpm hard disk drives in a RAID 0 configuration.

For those keen to get their hands on this ultra-fast external storage drive, LaCie is now retailing its fastest portable storage solution in 1TB SSD capacity through the LaCie online store and resellers starting from US$1,299.99. Compatible with the same cables and connectors as the first-gen Thunderbolt, the Little Big Disk Thunderbolt 2 comes backed by a three-year limited warranty, and includes complimentary web-based resources, expert in-house technical support, and worldwide repair/replacement coverage. Warranty extension and Advance Care Option can also be purchased.
