Updated 24 July 2014: The SSDNow V310 will have a recommended retail price of S$799.

The fact that SSDs are very much faster than traditional mechanical hard disk drives is irrefutable. However, for the past few years their capacities have been limited, and it is not only recently that we began to see an influx of near 1TB SSDs hitting the market.

The latest large capacity SSD to be released is Kingston's new SSDNow V310, which comes with 960GB of storage. The SSDNow V310 is powered by a Phison 3108 controller and Kingston claims that sequential read and write speeds of up to 450MB/s is possible.

"Since 2009, our V ‘Value’ series solid-state drives have delivered the best price to performance ratio as possible to enable consumers on a budget or entry-level users to experience the benefits of SSD technology. Our new V310 continues that along with providing the biggest capacity ever in a Kingston SSD,” said Nathan Su, Flash Memory Sales Director, APAC Region, Kingston.

Unlike most other brands, the Kingston SSDNow V310 will come with all the accessories one might need for an upgrade, including a bumper, HDD tray bracket, extra SATA data and power cables, and even a hard disk cloning utility.
