Jay-Z and Samsung Give Away 1 Million Copies of New Album

Hip-hop artiste and entrepreneur, Jay-Z and Samsung have just announced a deal that will no doubt please Jay-Z fans, who also happen to own a relatively new Samsung Galaxy device.

One million copies of Jay-Z's upcoming album, "Magna Carter Holy Grail" will be given away for free via a customized "Magna Carter" app which fans have to download onto their Galaxy devices on 24 June (US).

Only the first million users will be eligible for the giveaway, but that's not all. Besides getting the album for free, they will also be able to get the album 72 hours (three days) before it officially launches on 4 July (US).

According to the album's official website, only the Samsung Galaxy S3, S4 and Note 2 devices are eligible for the free album.

This partnership isn't the first time mobile companies have collaborated with music artistes or their affiliated brands in a bid to get new customers.

HTC (mobile) HP (tablets and notebooks), and even Blackberry (mobile) have all done it before, although not quite on the same scale.

"We don't have any rules; everybody is trying to figure it out," Jay-Z says. "That's why the Internet is like the Wild West, the Wild Wild West. We need to write the new rules."
