Jabra Releases Jabra Rox Headset with Dolby Digital Sound

Jabra has just launched a wireless headset called Rox that promises full-spectrum Dolby Digital Plus sound on the go. Built from premium materials and tested for durability and performance, the Rox is a a pair of in-ear headphones meant to take all sorts of knocks, and go wherever you take it.

Bluetooth 4.0 and NFC pairing is supported so set-up is quick and easy, and the omni-directional microphone features a noise filter to cut out ambient sound when you’re making calls. The speakers themselves feature 6mm dynamic speakers with passive noise reduction of 15 dB and a frequency response of 20Hz to 20kHz with 92dB sensitivity.

A small control bar on the right side gives you track, volume and phone controls, and the Rox comes with four tips and three ear wings in the box to help you get the best fit. When you’re not listening to music, just sling the Rox around your neck. There’s a power-saving magnet in each ear bud, so clicking the ear buds together disconnects them from Bluetooth/NFC, shuts them off and saves power till you’re ready to listen again. Reconnecting is simple - just pull them apart and they’ll automatically seek out the last music source and start where you left off.

One thing to note though, you only get Dolby Digital sound if you play music through the Jabra Sound App, which is free to download, but requires a code to unlock. The nice thing is that the app includes a digital equalizer, so you can fine tune your listening experience, or use one of the presets that best matches your playlist. Also, the Rox remembers up to 8 devices once you've paired it, handy for those of you with multiple audio sources.
