iPhone 6s beats the Galaxy Note7 in app speed test

If you still believe that raw specs are important considerations when purchasing a smartphone, this video may change your mind.

PhoneBuff did an epic speed test comparison between the Samsung Galaxy Note7 and Apple iPhone 6s where the latter managed to perform much better. In the video, the iPhone 6s took about one minute and 21 seconds to launch 14 apps in succession while the Galaxy Note7 lagged behind with a timing of two minutes and four seconds. The margin is even wider when both phones went through two laps of the same speed test; the iPhone 6s takes another 30 seconds while the Galaxy Note7 took 45 seconds longer.

As a quick recap, the Galaxy Note7 is powered by the Exynos 8890 octa-core chipset and 4GB RAM while the iPhone 6s runs on an A9 dual-core processor with 2GB RAM. However, you should keep in mind that the Galaxy Note7 has a higher resolution display which may affect the workload and performance of its processor. Moreover, such speed tests are unlikely to be replicated by users in day-to-day usage conditions and hence, might not be an accurate assessment of what both phones are capable of.
