iOS Users Get Data Compression Feature on Chrome

Google has begun notifying iOS users about the data compression feature found on its mobile browser app, Chrome. Android users have had the opportunity to test out this feature on the beta version of the Chrome app, with iOS users recently getting introduced to this feature via notifications on their iOS devices. However, there's no way to turn the feature on without receiving the invite, and if you turn the invite down, it seems that the feature will be unavailable to you.

The feature works by routing web requests through Google's own servers, with Google's PageSpeed libraries compressing and minimizing the amount of HTML, JavaScript and CSS resources. The benefit to users is that this does not slow down browsing, and can in fact, reduce data usage by 50 percent.
