Intel Releases New Line of Mini-SATA SSD

Notebook vendors will have a new choice of SSD brands to choose from now that Intel has released its new series of mini-SATA SSD drives, the 310 series. While the SSD controller is the same one found in Intel's existing X25-M drives, it's the first time that it has been brought to this tiny form factor. These drives have 11% of the volume of the usual 2.5-inch SSD. The 310 Series will be available in 40 and 80GB variants.
