Intel to Employ Hillcrest's Freespace Motion Control Technology

Intel is collaborating with Hillcrest Labs to add a point-and-click, motion-sensitive remote control option to its set-top and gateway platform for pay TV operators.

Intel's newly developed Media Server Reference Design (MSRD) is targeted at manufacturers building set-top boxes and media servers that are based on the Intel Berryville media processor, formerly known as the CE5300. The design incorporates the Hillcrest Freespace Motion Engine software, and all allow MSRD devices to utilize motion controls for navigation on-screen interfaces.
