Singapore, 7 October 2010 – HardwareMAG (HWM), the longest running consumer technology publication in Singapore, celebrates its 10th anniversary this month with a digital edition starting with its October 2010 issue. It is the first home-grown technology publication to be made available on a digital platform.
Along with its printed copy available at local newsstands, the digital magazine format will extend the reach of the HWM brand name to a tech-savvy and passionate global audience.
Readers from all over the world will now be able to access HWM anytime, anywhere, regardless of where they are located. Through the versatile Zinio platform, users can purchase HWM and download it into their PC, Mac or onto an e-reader like the iPad for offline reading and safekeeping.
Users who wish to purchase HWM can do so either through the Zinio Magazine Newsstand & Reader app, which is available on the Apple iTunes App Store (http://itunes.apple.com/sg/app/id364297166) or directly on the Zinio website (http://www.zinio.com). Each digital copy will retail at US$4.20 (U.P. US$5.20). You can also subscribe to HWM for a year or get the current issue directly here.
"The digital space is one that we cannot ignore, given its rising popularity and adoption in this current day and age. We are confident that our foray into the digital medium will satisfy our loyal readership base even more and at the same time, attract new and discerning readers," said David Chieng, HWM Editor. "We look forward to the many possibilities that the electronic medium brings in the future."
Since its inception, HWM has grown from strength to strength with localised editions published in Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand and the Philippines.
HWM prides itself on its strong local and global tech content that keeps its readers informed of the latest happenings in the tech scene while helping buyers decide on the right tech gadgets to buy. There is even a new Software section which caters to the application and gaming community.
Shortly after its revamp in December 2009, HWM earned an Award of Excellence in the category of Design & Layout at the Asian Publishing Awards in July 2010.
HWM also publishes the HWM MEGAGUIDE to Digital Photography. The guide book is currently in its second revision and has sold out in most major bookstores.
Commenting on the success of HWM, Mr Eugene Low, Deputy Managing Director of SPH Magazines, said, “HWM has had a remarkable 10-year journey in one of the most exciting eras of technological evolution. Thanks to our readers, advertisers and business partners, we believe that HWM will continue to offer editorial excellence for the next decade and beyond.”
