Huawei's new MateBook X laptop looks just like a MacBook

Microsoft isn't the only company releasing a new laptop today, Huawei has also unveiled a new Windows 10 laptop called the MateBook X, and it looks a lot like a 12-inch Apple MacBook.

The 13-inch laptop has an ultra-thin aluminum design and is powered by either an Intel Core i5 or i7 processor. The laptop measures just 12.5mm thick, and weights just over 1kg. The 13-inch display has a 2,160 x 1,440-pixel resolution and is surrounded by a tiny 4.4mm bezel. Inside, you get either 256GB or 512GB SSD options, and 4 or 8GB RAM.

The laptop is also the first with Dolby's Atmos sound system built-in, which uses integrated software and hardware for superior sound quality. Dolby collaborated with Huawei to help design the speakers located above the keyboard, as well as the preloaded software that optimizes the sound for movies, music or gaming.

An interesting feature on the laptop is the power button, which actually doubles up as a Windows Hello-compatible fingerprint reader.

The MateBook X has a pair of USB-C ports: one for charging, and one for data transfer. Huawei is also including a MateDock 2.0 USB-C dongle in the box, which includes a regular USB Type-A port, DVI, HDMI, and a second USB-C port for pass-through charging.

The MateBook X will be available later this year in grey, gold and rose gold colors.
