Huawei to Release ICS-Flavored MediaPad 7 Lite
Hot on the heels of Google's Nexus 7 comes a relatively similar product by Huawei - the MediaPad 7 Lite tablet. Not much is known about the upcoming tablet so far, except that it would run on a near-stock build of ICS, feature an IPS display capable of 1080p HD video playback and support "cellular voice calls, SMS and MMS via 3G". Some other observations made by TechnoBuffalo:
Techno Buffalo - "There appears to be a front-facing camera on the tablet’s upper right-hand corner and, if you flip the MediaPad 7 Lite facedown, you’ll also notice a rear-facing camera positioned near what appears to be a speaker. The MediaPad 7 Lite features a slick unibody design that is somewhat reminiscent of the HTC Flyer."
We have no idea when the tablet will launch or its price tag but given the competitive pricing of the smaller 7-inch tablets, we say it should be around US$199 or lesser to match the other competitors, including the popular Kindle Fire and the alleged iPad Mini.
