Huawei Exec Demos 6.1-Inch Ascend Mate Ahead of CES 2013

We know the Huawei Ascend Mate will be making an appearance at the upcoming Consumer Electronics Show 2013 (CES 2013), but Huawei executive Richard Yu jumped the gun by showing the device to fans at a Huawei store in Guangzhou yesterday. Here's a quick recap of its alleged specs:

  • 6.1-inch full HD 1080p display (361ppi)
  • 1.8GHz K3V3 quad-core processor
  • 2GB RAM
  • 4,000mAh battery
  • 9.9mm side profile

Yu added on that the Ascend Mate will utilize low temperature poly-silicon (LTPS) technology. The benefits of LTPS technology include higher pixel density, a more compact LCD, cost reduction via component integration, durability-shock and temperature resilient.

Besides the Ascend Mate, Huawei is also expected to unveil the 5-inch Ascend D2 and two Windows Phone 8 devices at CES 2013. The Chinese company is one of the numerous phone makers that will be rolling out smartphones with 5-inch full HD displays in the first half of 2013.
