HTC U11 pre-orders start tomorrow (27th May)

The squeezable HTC U11 will be available for pre-order exclusively at Singtel starting tomorrow, 27th May, through to 8th June. The phone will cost S$998, and will be the higher spec 6GB RAM/128GB storage version.

An official release date has not been announced yet.

The U11 is the first smartphone that can register input when the frame of the phone is squeezed thanks to eight super-thin pressure sensitive strain gauges in the lower half of the frame (four on each side). HTC calls this feature Edge Sense. The sensors in the frame recognize two forms of input - short and long squeeze - letting you quickly and easily launch any app you want. Edge Sense can also be configured to work inside any app.

The phone uses the same Liquid Surface Construction design we saw previously on the HTC U Ultra and U Play, launched earlier this year, with front and rear glass panels two curved glass panels around a color-matched aluminum frame. Exclusive to the U11 are two new colors : Amazing Silver and Solar Red.

Specs-wise, the 5-inch QHD phone is powered by Qualcomm's latest Snapdragon 835 processor. It has a 3,000mAh battery.
