While most phone vendors rush to schedule their product launches before Apple's event on 12th September, HTC will have an event on 19th September in Big Apple (the nickname for New York). As with most media invites, HTC's invitation doesn't reveal much of what it is going to unveil.
WPDang and The Verge have previously reported that HTC will be launching three Windows Phone 8 (WP8) devices in the third week of September. In addition, sources close to HTC's Windows Phone project told The Verge that consumers can expect to see the first WP8 device to integrate Beats Audio. A leaked manual two days also reveals the name of one of the three HTC WP8 devices - the 8X. The HTC 8X is said to be powered by a dual-core 1.5GHz processor and has a 720p display.
There is a possibility that the Taiwanese company may unveil a follow-up to its Flyer tablet. Images obtained by EVLeaks last week reveal a 10-inch tablet with an almost bezel-less design on its top, left and right sides. It was said to be unveiled at IFA 2012, however HTC launched another entry-level Android smartphone, the Desire X.
Samsung recently took the wraps off the Galaxy Note II at IFA 2012, and the LG Optimus Vu is set to hit global markets this month. Will HTC join the phablet party with a 5-inch device, which is rumored to come with a 1080p display? Or will the company announce the Android 4.1 Jelly Bean update schedule for its One devices? We shall see in less than two weeks' time.
