HTC has remained under the radar since the launch of its U Ultra flagship smartphone in January. With the LG G6 and Samsung Galaxy S8 taking the spotlight in recent weeks, HTC has decided to throw a teaser on its upcoming phone launch next month.

The teaser has a tagline, "Squeeze for the Brillant U" and comes with a five-second video clip showing how the bottom sides of the upcoming phone can be squeezed to execute some actions. The launch event is set on 16 May in three countries - Taipei, New York and London.

VentureBeat reported weeks ago that the upcoming phone is the HTC U (codenamed Ocean). It is said to have a 5.5-inch WQHD display, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 chipset and a 12-megapixel rear camera. Its main feature is the Edge Sense, where sensors embedded along the frame of the display allow the user to control customizable actions.
