HTC Fires Back Against Apple in Patent Dispute
Months after Apple first launched a patent infringement suit against HTC, the Taiwanese company has responded with its own complaint, claiming that Apple's iPod and iPhone products violate five of HTC's patents. With a few of those patents involving the phone dialer system, we aren't too sure how strong a case HTC has, but it's all part of the suit and counter suit behavior we're seeing from companies. Patent reform is definitely something to look into.
Bloomberg - HTC Corp., a maker of mobile phones that run Google Inc.’s Android operating system, fired back at Apple Inc. in a patent-infringement complaint that seeks to halt U.S. imports of the iPhone, iPad and iPod. The complaint with the U.S. International Trade Commission in Washington was filed today less than three months after Apple petitioned the agency to block imports of HTC’s phones that run on Android, saying those devices violate five patents.
