HTC Desire owners have been on a roller coaster ride for the past few months. Earlier this year, the first Desire device was slated for a Gingerbread update, only to have that plan shelved by HTC, citing lack of memory on the Desire to perform a smooth transition to Google Android 2.3. In less than a day, the Taiwanese company retracted their decision, promising the Gingerbread update to Desire owners once more.
And from HTC's Facebook page, a new update was posted over the weekend, assuring its customers that the Gingerbread update will be rolled out to Desire owners by the end of July. With the HTC Desire spending more than a year in the market and receiving constant updates to the latest Android firmware, it's undeniable that HTC is one of the few companies to put firmware updates as one of its top priorities.
