Update: HP has just announced that it will discontinue the standalone sales of the HP TouchPad at Comex due to safety and security concerns. Purchase-to-purchase option is still available for the following products:
HP TouchSmart610-1138d, 1178d, 1188d; and HP Pavilion dv4-3020TX, HP Pavilion dv6-6144TX, dv6-6105TX and dv6-6106TX
True to HP's earlier claim, its now defunct TouchPad tablet's pricing has been revised.
According to a note posted on HP Singapore's Facebook page, the TouchPad will be selling for S$126 and S$201 (with GST) for its 16GB and 32GB versions. The direct purchase option is only applicable during the first two days (1-2 September 2011) of Comex 2011, with 100 units of the 16GB and 32GB each available per day. This means there'll be a total of 400 units available for the direct purchase. Purchases have to be made in cash, with each person limited to one unit and is only available at HP's direct counter at booth number 8428 at level 4.
Adding on, the company will also include a purchase-to-purchase offer for the tablets. You will also be able to purchase the 16GB and 32GB versions for S$49 and S$119 (with GST) respectively with any purchase of a HP TouchSmart610-1138d, 1178d, 1188d; and HP Pavilion dv4-3020TX, HP Pavilion dv6-6144TX, dv6-6105TX and dv6-6106TX.
According to HP, the pool of TouchPads from the purchase-to-purchase option is separate from the direct purchase option. And that means, if stocks have run dry for the direct purchase option, you can still fall back on the purchase-to-purchase option to get your hands on the TouchPad.
Your purchase-with-purchase HP TouchPad has to be collected at RewardsLINK within Suntec City level 2 on a first come first serve basis, while stocks last.
Meanwhile, if you have already purchased the TouchPad during the pre-order period, you still have the option to obtain a refund. Otherwise, it's time to join us in the queue to purchase the HP TouchPad.
