The HP Sprocket 2-in-1 is a portable printer and camera rolled into one
Would you get this over a Fujifilm Instax?
Earlier this year, HP launched the Sprocket, a pocket photo printer that pairs with smartphones. Now less than a year in, the company is bringing the Sprocket 2-in-1 to market, which is essentially a pocket printer fused with an instant camera.
Using the Zink print technology that requires no ink cartridges, the new Sprocket 2-in–1 can print 2 x 3-inch (5 x 7.6 cm) photos or stickers. It has a standard internal memory capacity of 512MB and offers microSD card support (up to 256GB).
While you can use Sprocket 2-in-1 as an instant camera, you can also pair it to a smartphone over Bluetooth. Through the updated Sprocket app, you can edit your photos (e.g., add words, filters) before printing them. You can also scan a photo with the Sprocket app on your phone and it will automatically attach to a video that plays in AR on the photo. You can then do things like swipe to see all the photos from that location or date.
The HP Sprocket 2-in-1 will be available in Singapore from November 12, 2017, at a price of S$239.
