HP to Re-enter Tablet Market with Android OS?
HP is one of the companies which struggled to navigate the waters of the post-PC world and transition into the smart device business. In April 2010 HP purchased WebOS from Palm hoping to have its own successful platform for tablets. By the end of 2011, mismanagement meant that HP had abandoned WebOS and handed it over to the open source community.
If rumors are to be believed, HP is ready to make another foray into the smart device market segment in 2013. But instead of resuscitating WebOS, HP will be making devices which will run on Android OS and feature the NVIDIA Tegra 4 processor.
HP has recently teamed up with Google to release its own Chromebook. It seems that the partnership may be further strengthened with HP's move towards mobile in the future.
