HP Announces New Printing Offerings for Enterprises and Officejet Pro X Series
HP has announced new remote management services for their enterprise customers to help them reduce costs and streamline their business processes for better efficiency. These services come in the form of HP Access Control Printing Solutions and HP Capture and Route.
HP Access Control Printing Solutions
HP’s Access Control Printing Solutions lets businesses control their print environments in order to increase productivity while cutting costs in the form of:
Secure Pull Printing
When users print a document, the job is sent to the network. Users can then claim the printouts from any solution-enabled device. This will result in less unclaimed printouts while also allowing workers to access documents from other devices.
HP’s AC solutions feature authentication features that can be integrated with existing network security credentials such as LDAP and Active Directory. Businesses can also implement user authentication before allowing workers to print, scan, copy and email at the device.
Businesses can easily track the use of devices and supplies with HP’s AC solutions. This data will help in determining how to allocate print costs.
Intelligent Print and Rights Management
HP’s AC solutions can help to cut costs by implementing automatic job routing and custom device user controls. The custom device user controls will allow businesses to assign specific usage rights to workers, such as limiting color printing to workers who need it. This in turn, will also help to save paper.
For businesses interested in HP’s AC solutions, they need not opt for the full suite of services. They can choose modular solutions in order to meet their specific needs. HP has remote management and support centers in Australia, China, India, Thailand and Indonesia in order to support their customers in the Asia Pacific region.
HP Capture and Route
HP Capture and Route allows documents to be scanned to many digital formats such as PDF, TIFF and Microsoft Word documents. Documents can be easily shared to back-office applications and online destinations including Microsoft SharePoint and Autonomy iManage. With Capture and Route, users can select multiple destinations and just scan the document once for it to be sent to all the selected destinations. Capture and Route also allows for scanned documents to be turned into editable text in up to 17 languages by using optical character recognition (OCR) capabilities.
Officejet Pro X Series
HP has also announced a new inkjet series, the Officejet Pro X Series, which features single-function and multifunction printers that offer advantages over color laser printers in their similar class. Compared to the same-class color laser printers, the Officejet Pro X Series are able to print at twice the speed and yet only cost half of the printing cost. The Officejet Pro X Series also features HP PageWide technology, which is a print bar that spans the width of a page, allowing the Officejet Pro X printers to print up to 70 pages per minute in General Office mode (draft mode). Pricing, availability and specifications will be revealed at a later date.
