Ever wondered how to properly clean your camera lens without damaging it? Well, wonder no more, as Steve Heiner, senior technical manager at Nikon, tells you how.
Friendly fibers. In most cases all you need is a good lens cloth. They are now made of microfiber, but get a good one. How do you determine quality? “It’s hard to be absolutely certain, so try to use a reputable manufacturer.” Cloths from 3M are available for around $5. One wipe will last a long time, but you have to take care of it. “Make sure you wash your microfiber cloth from time to time. Just throw it in the washing machine,” Mr. Heiner said.
