Hisense and Sina Weibo has announced the availability of a cross-sector smart air conditioner in Beijing.

Users can adjust the power, temperature, and humidity of the air conditioner simply by sending a private message over Weibo. To activate, users need to register a Sina Weibo account for the air conditioner, which is connected via its power line, then add the account to their Friends List (with scalability to all mobile instant messaging tools including WeChat). The user then initiates a dialogue with the account via Weibo private messages to check the temperature, humidity, and other conditions at home and issue smart commands which will be seamlessly delivered to and executed by the air conditioner.
