Here’s a map of the most Google-searched products in each country
Fixr, a cost-estimation website, recently released an infographic detailing every country’s obsession with Googling the cost of something they need. The results are unique to each country, with every continent and region detailing the most-searched item cost.
It is an interesting map to look at. There are quite a number of searches for the cost of cows and camels in various countries around the world. Russia seems obsessed with flying a MiG (Mikoyan-Gurevich jet fighter) and Iran wants to know how much kidneys are worth. Singapore does not fail to disappoint us – our most-searched would be the cost of hiring a maid.
To get a detailed view of each map, right-click each image to view them in a separate window.
Fixr gets their data by going to Google and searching “how much is a * in”, followed by the country of interest. The auto-complete offered by Google indicates the item that’s most-searched, and Fixr proceeds to categorize it under a broad search term. The full spreadsheet containing the results for each country is available here.
