Here’s how much it costs to get an Intel Coffee Lake CPU and motherboard in Singapore
Intel’s 8th-generation Coffee Lake processors have finally dropped, and they’ve proven to be very, very fast. More importantly, they’re extremely competitive versus AMD’s Ryzen processors in terms of multi-threaded performance, despite featuring fewer cores and threads.
And as it turns out, they’re pretty attractive when it comes to pricing as well, and are in certain cases even cheaper.
At the time of writing, a handful of shops have already uploaded the prices of Coffee Lake processor and motherboard bundles. There are also prices for standalone CPUs, but most buyers will probably only be interested in the bundle pricing because the 8th-generation processors will need a new Intel Z370 motherboard to work.
Here are a couple of screenshots from PC Themes and Cybermind with the different bundle prices (click to view the full-sized image):
Bizgram has also updated its price list with details on the Coffee Lake processors and Z370 motherboards, which you can refer to here.
Overall, the Coffee Lake processors and motherboards are a bit more expensive than their 7th-generation Kaby Lake counterparts, but that's to be expected given the extra cores and threads across the board. After all, the extra price premium does get you multi-threaded performance that is close to what AMD offers for Ryzen, together with far better gaming performance.
