Heal is an app that makes doctors come to you

Heal is an app that makes doctors come to you

The bad news is that Heal's only available in the US right now.

Waiting isn't fun. Waiting to see a doctor while you're sick is even worse. At one time or another, everybody who has ever waited in line for a doctor has probably wished for a better method of getting medical attention. If you have the money, Heal is just what you're looking for.

Utilizing a concept similar to Uber, Heal is an iOS app (Android version incoming) which will allow you to request a doctor from a pool of qualified physicians who'll then visit your location for a consultation.

While Heal won't be performing operating procedures or X-rays at your home, the service will at least provide basic health care services, such as general consultation and diagnosis, which is perfect if you're down with the flu or chicken pox and don't want to get out of bed to go to the doctor.

You pay for your convenience; Heal isn't exactly cheap.

Like the screenshot shows, a visit by a doctor that you engage via the Heal app is going to set you back US$99. You can request a doctor for a child or an adult so the appropriate specialist will be sent, but other than that, you only have to enter your location and your payment method and you're set. A doctor will arrive at your location in about an hour. Suffice to say, if you're having an emergency, Heal isn't an alternative to an ambulance. Once you're prescribed medication, you can either get it yourself from a nearby pharmacy or use a service that Heal offers that delivers your medication to you, with whatever else you might need from a pharmacy.

Right now, Heal is only available in the US (and even then, only in Los Angeles or San Francisco) but like Uber, if the service takes off, it'll probably make it to local shores at some point.
