Product recalls seem to be the norm these days as GoPro is the latest company to announce a recall of its product. Its first drone, the Karma, was recalled less than a month after it hit retail shelves.

GoPro founder and chief executive Nicholas Woodman shared in a statement that a small number of Karma users reported incidents of power failure during operation. As safety is the company's top priority, it had to recall the product.

Till date, GoPro has sold about 2,500 units of the Karma drone. Customers are advised to return the device for a full refund. No replacement units are being offered at the time of publication. The company also did not specify when sales will resume.

The recall is likely to affect its earnings for the upcoming holiday quarter which it typically obtains half of its annual revenue. It also suffered a loss for the fourth straight quarter with revenue dropping 40% to US$240.6 million.
