GoPro Announces New Smaller, Lighter Hero3+ Cameras with Longer Battery Life

GoPro has announced their new Hero3+ lines of cameras, with a 20% smaller and lighter design plus 30% better battery life. New mounting accessories are also available.

The new GoPro Hero3+ Black Edition has 30% longer battery life, 4x faster Wi-Fi, a new SuperView mode which captures a wide-angle perspective, an Auto Low Light mode which automatically adjusts frame-rates for varying lighting conditions and a new lens for sharper video and improved image quality. The new housing is 20% smaller and lighter, and waterproof to 40m.

The new Hero3+ Silver Edition has a 2x faster image processor than the Hero3 Silver Edition, which 1080/60p and 720/120p video capture. It also boasts 4x faster Wi-Fi transfer speeds than before.

The new cameras are available now, the GoPro Hero3+ Black Edition retails at S$590, while the Silver Edition retails at S$389. The video below from GoPro features footage shot entirely with the new Hero3+ cameras, showing the extreme angles possible with the camera's small size, ruggedness and ability to be mounted almost anywhere.
