Google is set to unveil Android M, the next version of its mobile operating system at the annual I/O developer conference in a few days and Android Police may have uncovered evidence of its internal codename.

According to Android Police, it is pretty confident that the internal codename for Android M is Macadamia Nut Cookie (MNC) as the term is being used in the Android Open Source Project (AOSP) on several occasions (1) (2). Previously, the internal codenames for Android 5.0 Lollipop and Android 4.4 KitKat are Lemon Meringue Pie (LMP) and Key Lime Pie (KLP) respectively.

Android M is described by Google as "bringing the power of Android to all kinds of workplaces", which suggests that Google has new plans to tackle the enterprise sector.
