Google Working on High Definition Touchscreen Chromebook Pixel?

Android Authority has come across an interesting video posted by Developer François Beaufort -- the same person who posted about the new notification center in Chrome OS -- depicting a new notebook called the Chromebook Pixel. The video shows a Chromebook with a 2560 x 1700 pixels resolution, touchscreen display. The leaked video suggested that it was made by a company called Slinky.me, whose CEO then denied responsibility for the leak by saying his company's servers have been hacked.

The final portion of the professionally made video claims that the entire machine was designed by Google, but without any official confirmation, it's impossible to verify. There are however, some subtle clues in the video which suggests that it could very well be a real product that's undergoing internal testing. The video mentioned that the depicted notebook "gets better with time", which is how Google always describes Chromebooks running Chrome OS.

Android Authority reckons it could be a publicity stunt by Slinky.me or Google to gather interest levels in the concept product. However, it does make sense for Google to be heavily involved in the production of a Chromebook solely based on the ground it has covered thus far with Chrome OS. But in any case, the notebook looks extremely interesting, and could be part of a Chromebook equivalent of its Nexus program for mobile, called Pixel.
