Google Labs is an interactive platform where end users are able to give their inputs on Googlers' (or Google's developers) experimental applications. Well, Google Labs days are now numbered apparently, as the Mountain View gang decides to wind it down to focus on other crucial developments.
Google Blog - Last week we explained that we’re prioritizing our product efforts. As part of that process, we’ve decided to wind down Google Labs. While we’ve learned a huge amount by launching very early prototypes in Labs, we believe that greater focus is crucial if we’re to make the most of the extraordinary opportunities ahead.
Google Labs will be incorporated into other Google products and technologies. However, in-product channels such as Maps Labs and Gmail Labs will prevail, according to Google. More on this story here.
