Google sends out invitations for event on 29 Sep, promises "tasty new treats"

Mark the date on your calendar, Android fans! Google is holding a media event on 29th September where it is expected to unveil new Nexus smartphones alongside Android 6.0 Marshmallow.

Google is likely to announce two new Nexus smartphones (no tablet this year though) with Huawei and LG selected as the two manufacturers. LG will be building the smaller 5.2-inch Nexus phone which is rumored to run on a Qualcomm Snapdragon 620 processor, 4GB RAM and a 3,180mAh battery. Huawei will be offering the larger Nexus phone which will come in a 5.7-inch form factor and a Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 processor.

Android 6.0 Marshmallow, formerly known as Android M, was given a preview earlier this year at Google I/O 2015. You can expect to hear more in-depth information on its features. Google may also reveal more information on how it will expand Android One despite the slow start in India.
