Google+ Says: Let It Snow

Google+, Google’s very own social networking service, is clearly in a festive mood. If you’ve updated to the latest Google+ app (v4.2.4) on your Android device, besides new features like the ability to search for more stuff from one place, control who can buzz your phone, and explore more content on several categories when you visit the What’s Hot stream, a shake of your device will also - wait for it - add snow to your photos. The process couldn’t be simpler: just open a photo and shake your device. Then, shake again to save.

On another note, if Google+ isn’t your cup of tea, check the Google Play store nonetheless, as there may be quite a few more updates coming from Mountain View. For example, there’s a Google Keyboard app update that now packs a new blue color theme; a Google Maps app update that now helps you to find your upcoming reservation confirmations from your Gmail (such as restaurant, event, flight or hotel information) in Maps (note: this feature is only available in the U.S.); and a Google Search app update that fixes the overlapping search bar and icons issue on tablets running Android 4.4 KitKat.

As always, the updates are rolled out in stages. So don’t fret if you don’t see them now in the Google Play store - they’ll arrive eventually.
