Google Rolling Out Android 4.0.4 to Nexus S, Xoom Wi-Fi and Galaxy Nexus

Google announced that it has started rolling out Android 4.0.4, the latest version of Ice Cream Sandwich to UTMS/GSM Nexus S, Motorola Xoom Wi-Fi and HSPA+ Galaxy Nexus. The update will also be rolled out to more devices in the coming weeks. According to Google, the update includes:

  • stability improvements 
  • better camera performance 
  • smoother screen rotation 
  • improved phone number recognition 

Some users have received the updates on their devices with one XDA member claiming that the interface was noticeably faster and smoother. He highlighted several aspects such as faster loading of camera from the lock screen, faster rotation animation, and minimal time lag between clicking and opening menu items.

Other Android vendors had previously announced the Android 4.0 update schedules for their respective devices. HTC was among the first to fulfill its promise by delivering the Android 4.0.3 update to Sensation XE users yesterday.
