Google Gets New Look

We noticed that Google had a new look yesterday, but it was restricted to searches originating from www.google.com.sg. Going to the international site did not reveal any changes, and now we have official word that the search giant is indeed rolling out a new look gradually. Significantly, there's a new left panel that shows some of Google's additional search tools, and adds a dash of color to the interface.

Official Google Blog - Using Google today, you may have noticed that something feels slightly different — the look and feel of our search results have changed! Today’s metamorphosis responds to the increasing richness of the web and the increasing power of search — revealing search tools on the left and updating the visual look and feel throughout. While we are constantly rolling out small changes and updates, today’s changes showcase the latest evolutions in our search technology, making it easier than ever to find exactly what you're looking for.

We're not going to say 'Bing', but it's a thought that comes to mind on seeing the new look. Personally, we think there should be an option to hide the left panel, but give it a spin yourself to find out if you agree. Click here for more details.
