Google To Factor in Site Speed for Page Rank

Being the speed junkies that they are, Google has now decided to factor in site load speed when determining page rank. They've also provided some tools for owners to evaluate how fast the site is and provides optimization checklists for making sites faster. A good thing? We think it is, faster sites always means a more pleasant surfing experience. Nothing sucks more than waiting for 5 minutes just to get a site to load. - You may have heard that here at Google we're obsessed with speed, in our products and on the web. As part of that effort, today we're including a new signal in our search ranking algorithms: site speed. Site speed reflects how quickly a website responds to web requests.
