Google Debuts Online Music Service

Google has launched an invitation-only music service, Google Music. Still in its beta phase, users are able to store digital versions of songs they own in an online "locker", accessible via Internet-enabled devices.

Brisbane Times - Google has began letting people store music collections in virtual online libraries in a challenge to Apple's popular iTunes shop as well as a similar service from Amazon.

Google Music does not offer any songs for sale, but it's more of a cloud storage facility for users to tap into their music with gadgets such as smartphones and tablet computers. However, local availability is yet unknown. Read up more on Google Music here
