Well, not surprising, but still, just as interesting, is the fact that Google is going to start a web-based platform powered by Intel Atom processors for TV and set-top boxes. To be honest, this isn't exactly a novelty, but considering Google's vast web-based services, being ported onto a broadcast media, and it could bring more eyeballs for the company.
Engadget - There's not a lot to see here -- in fact, there's nothing at all to see at this point -- but The New York Times has it on good authority that Google, Intel, and Sony have teamed up to develop an Android-powered internet platform using Atom processors for televisions and set-top boxes.
So imagine - Gmail, Gtalk, Google Wave, Google Buzz, all accessible via your set-tops. The question is - will both the consumer and service providers bite onto this bait and allow Google into their domain? We'll have to wait for a while more, so check out the full story here for more information.
