During the second day of their annual I/O conference, Google announced Google TV, a brand new service that aims to bring internet video into your living room TV.
Google TV lets the user search for TV programs from the TV and watch internet videos. Powered by Android, the service will either be built into TV sets or can be bought separately as a set-top box. Howard Stringer, CEO of Sony, announced on stage that Google TV will be built into a HD television set called the Sony Internet TV as well as into a Blu-ray player, while Logitech will be making a Google TV set-top box for existing TVs.
Vic Gundotra, Vice-President of Engineering for Google, confirmed that Google TV will go international in 2011.
