Gmail on Feature Phones Now Faster and Easier to Use

Since the first iPhone appeared in 2007, smartphones have pretty much taken over as the default device of choice for most people in developed nations. However, feature phones are still very much in demand, especially in developing nations. To cater for users that are still using feature phones, Google recently updated Gmail for feature phone browsers, enabling it to be faster and easier to use.

According to a blog post by a Google product manager, Ari Bezman, improvements on the web application reduces the number of presses needed for users to read, reply or compose emails. An example that Bezman gave of this streamlined process, is that users are able to reply immediately from thread view, rather than having to get into the email before replying to it.
