Gigabyte Expands Mid-range G1-Killer Gaming Series with G1.Sniper Gaming Mobos

Gigabyte has launched its latest gaming motherboards - the G1.Sniper Z5S and G1.Sniper Z5 with signature Gigabyte Amp-up Audio features and Qualcomm Atheros Killer E2200 networking.

Packing an upgradeable on-board operational amplifier (OP-Amp) that is found in high-end audio equipment, the Op-Amp is mounted on a socket which allows users to physically switch out and try different OP-Amps, each offering distinct and nuanced properties that make the audio clearer.

With a gold-plated USB 2.0 port, the USB DAC-UP provides clean power delivery to any Digital-to-Analog Converter (DAC), which can be sensitive to fluctuations in power from other USB ports. Also, to optimize the audio experience, the gaming motherboards offer Gain Boost with on-board switches to select between 2.5x and 6x amplification modes depending in output device. Most OP-Amps are capable of providing a high-gain audio output that is ideal for high-end headphones and speakers that have higher impedance headroom.

Both motherboards integrate Realtek ALC1150 HD Audio Codec, a multi-channel audio codec that features ten audio channels in total, including two front panel audio channels capable of a 115dB Signal-to-Noise ratio. This ensures the most lifelike realism during gameplay, and a more immersive overall experience. They also include an audio noise guard that separates the board's sensitive analog audio components from potential EMI noise at the PCB level. LED trace path lighting illuminates to show the separation of the PCB layers.

Utilizing Nichicon Muse MW series bipolar audio capacitors at each channel layout, the incorporated Qualcomm Atheros Killer E2200 comes with Advanced Stream Detect technology, which identifies and prioritizes all network traffic to ensure important applications that require high-speed connectivity are prioritized over less important traffic.

Gamers can also make use of the Killer Network Manager to custom prioritize for all network applications - increase, or reduce the bandwidth each application uses, or block an application entirely, all in one simple GUI. On top of that, the G1.Sniper Z5S supports 2-way SLI and 3-Way Crossfire configurations, while the G1.Sniper Z5 supports 2-way Crossfire configurations.
